Philadelphia Attractions

Washington Square
This is a “intercontinental” restaurant. Whatever that means. The decor is gothic (low lights, black drapes, black uniforms).  Atmosphere, service and food is good. Sometimes waiters and waitresses are short staffed and at times very busy.  Be sure to try the Lavender Mojito Martini, it’s delicious.

Rittenhouse Row
Rittenhouse Row is Philadelphia’s cultural, residental, entertainment and business center. The wide array of available shopping, dining and cultural places makes Rittebhouse the right spot to be visited. You will find here high fashion butiques, beauty sallons, world-renowned restaurants, historic landmark hotels. Hospitlity and exceptional service are standard in Rittenhouse Row.

Ride the Ducks
Experience Philadelphia sightseeing fun from a duck’s eye view on Philadelphia’s original duck tour. Travel on land and water in one amazing vehicle. Make this great decision! Fun, and interesting things about the city at the same time. The tour of the River is relaxing. Tour historic Philadelphia and shlash into the Delaware River at Penn’s Landing.

The Franklin Institute
A 175 year-old institute, named in honor of Benjamin Franklin, dedicated to providing a better understanding of science and technology. Take a virtual tour or find out about events, exhibits, and membership. Very interactive, and for anybody over the age of 10, educational. If your kids are under the age of 10 it’s just a place to have great fun.

Bridge Cinema de Lux
Cinema de Lux is located across from the Fresh Grocer in the UPenn area. They show the latest movies and student discounts are available. This place is not as nice as it was when it first opened and they could offer more food like the theatre in Cherry Hill, NJ.  Overall a good choice, but the audience is just as rude as most movie-going audiences in this city. There are almost always people who behave as if they’re in their own living

Omni Hotel-Independence Park
It is great - old city location, next to bars and restaurants and cafes.   Huge rooms which are clean and have all the amenities. Wonderful service and staff. The hotel room service/restaurant has a wide array of very tempting choices. About 1/2 block from the hotel is a jewel- Buddakan. Unbelievable food and drinks at standard pricing Asian inspired. Very hip and clean. Advantages:  Customer Service and Location. Disadvantages: One of two guest elevators out of service, bedding needs upgrade.

Philadelphia Zoo
The Philadelphia Zoo is off the chart when it comes to happy animals. If you want a great place to spend a day, the Philadelphia Zoo is it. All the animals seem  happy, rested and full. The best animal exhibits in the park are the big cats: Siberian tigers, snow leopards and lions.  The Zoo isn’t too large that it can’t be done in one day, but not too small either. Let the Philly Zoo Capture Your Animal Senses.

Kimmel Center
The place for performing arts and academy of music. It is also the new home of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Accommodated within the center is Verizon Hall for orchestral presentations, the Perelman Theater for chamber music concerts, Innovation Studio and the Merck Arts Education Center. A variety of Philadelphia’s performing arts groups serve as resident companies, presenting their artistry each season alongwith performances by visiting guest artists and ensembles.
